A new study conducted by cosmetics retailer Sephora found that people are spending an average of $1,400 per month on makeup, while those spending $2,000 or more on cosmetics were spending an extra $2.3 billion a year.
The study, conducted for Sephoreas sister brand Ulta, found that the average person spends an average $1.50 on makeup per month.
Sephora is one of the biggest makeup retailers in the world, and its sales have grown by 50 percent in the past year.
Sephors founder and CEO Marc Jacobs, who is also a professor of economics at Princeton University, said in a statement that he is proud of the company’s efforts to make beauty a better place.
“Beauty has never been so affordable,” Jacobs said.
“Sephor’s customers are finding a new way to make beautiful things happen.
We’ve made the beauty world even more inclusive.”
